Biography
Howard Pell is a Canadian writer, Flamenco promoter, Rotarian, and world traveler.
Born and raised in Toronto, he holds a BA and MSc both in Computer Science. He retired in 2014 from a career in adult education in the technology industry and at the university level. Becoming an educator was a fairly easy step for Howard as he has always had a love of learning, and then sharing what he has learned with others.
Having traveled extensively both for work and vacations with his wife, Howard learned the value of observing different cultures and people. The joy of making connections with people outside his normal sphere, and the adventurous spirit of trying new experiences, sights, sounds and foods has left him with the firm belief that travel is the best education money can buy.
Howard’s fiction reflects his need to explore topics such as the caste system, prejudice and religion.
Howard and his wife spend the winter months in the south of Spain where they both fell in love with everything flamenco. So much so, that when they met a young couple teaching and performing in their Canadian city, they had to pitch in and volunteer. He is now part of the organizing team of the KW Flamenco Fest and annual event offering flamenco workshops and performances.
Howard is an active Rotarian and volunteer in many projects with his club and beyond.
Howard enjoys reading Sci-Fi, historical fiction and the classics.
